Description: An elegant sterling silver box with cedarwood partitions hallmarked London 1919. It has a nice engine turned top and is a good sized box that many people are now using as jewellery boxes. The hinge is as good condition as the day it was made, 95 years ago. The box is in overall excellent condition and the hallmarks are clearly visible on the box.
The makers mark on this piece is C.L.S. which according to the London Assay Office is the registered mark of Charles Lovell Simmonds. This makers mark was registered at the London Assay Office on 12 April 1916 and this piece if the only one from that maker that has come to market recently.
