Art Deco 6.20ct Unheated Ceylon Sapphire and Diamond Ring in Platinum

19,750.00

Description

A striking sapphire and diamond dating from circa 1925-1930.  This is a beautiful example of all that is great about jewellery from that period; large coloured gemstones, old cut diamonds (often repurposed from jewellery from an earlier period), and striking geometric design – this ring has it all.

The ring features a large 6.20 carat natural unheated Ceylon sapphire in the signature cornflower blue (accompanied by a GSC Certificate).  The colour, shape, transparency and of course size of this sapphire is a delight in almost any lighting conditions.   The sapphire is flanked by two old mine cut diamonds with beautiful fire, brilliance and old world sparkle that we love. Together the diamonds have an impressive combined carat weight of 1.95cts.

The ring has been handmade in platinum and is original in every regard. The band has partially rubbed French hallmarks marks to its outside and the ring is currently size K but can be resized as required. This is a very impressive and striking ring on the hand and well worth a trip to our retail shop in Galway to see and try in person.
