Description
This mourning ring has survived into the 21st century in a superb all original condition. The ring is a highly prized black bloodstone with lovely red speckles. The ring is a shield shape bloodstone in a very decorative hand engraved 18k yellow gold band. The ring was made in Birmingham by V & S circa 1859. The inside of the ring has the inscription Emily Eliz Stone died 20th September 1859 age 9 years.
The shoulders of the ring have a decorative scroll design.
The ring has full hallmarks from Birmingham circa 1859 and also has a period memorial engraving on the inside of the ring.
