A superb and substantial antique 14ct gold cable link chain with imperial Russian hallmarks.

This striking cable link chain is an excellent example of simple design and quality antique craftsmanship. The chain has a solid, oval link with flat edges at each side – giving a smooth and comfortable finish to this piece. The chain has excellent weight at 40 grams which feels substantial, but looks neat while wearing. Unusually this example closes with both a nautical clasp and a swivel clasp, which looks very stylish and can be worn to the front. Measuring approximately 15″ in length, this is a shorter piece and is most suitable to wearing at a choker length.

Dating from the early 20th Century this piece is in superb condition and is one of the nicest antique chains have seen in some time. With its original Imperial Russian hallmarks and makers mark “АЛ”, it is also stamped with an assay office mark most likely corresponding with the Odessa district.
